SOLO I start again from myself
"I'm Starting Over Again" is the subtitle of the show, which, besides being extremely evocative, perfectly captures the attitude with which I intend to approach this new tour. After thirteen albums, concerts in Italy, throughout Europe, and Canada, projects with orchestras and the most diverse musical groups, experiences in theater and song, a Tenco Award for Lifetime Achievement, four books, and musical happenings—all of which have characterized my long, rewarding musical career, now spanning more than 65 years—I'm returning to my roots with a solo concert, with my guitar, in small Italian historic theaters, clubs, and small squares. At a time when there's so much talk of stadiums, large concerts, and music that, in these contexts, inevitably transforms into an "all-round spectacle," I long instead to experience once again the closeness of the audience, "the wind instruments almost touching," in an intimate setting where I can tell my stories, made of words, music, nostalgia, melancholy, but also joy, enthusiasm, and delight. In the words of Paul Simon: “Writing hits? Thinking of success at all costs? It's no longer the time! I don't like songs that work now. Enough with stadiums. If even 100 attentive people like you, well! That's quite a lot.”
